My Tiger Value Competition

INSTRUCTIONS :

IDEATION AND PROGRESSION:

This competition, like the projects, requires our critical thinking and creativity to excite people about the Sustainable Development Goals through creative output. Depending on the students' comfort level, the outcome could be an illustration, photo manipulation, or animation.

  • IDEATION
Ms Anis advised that instead of sending the short film itself, I send my movie poster. She suggested that a captivating poster film should be developed that conveys the message that UNDP wants people to support their Sustainable Development Goals.

I gathered numerous moldboards from various movie posters that I thought were distinctive and fascinating and that I could try later. and here's a collection of moldboard and sketches I produced before finishing the MyTiger Value Competition:

  • PROGRESSION
During the editing part, I ran into some issues. I realised I hadn't taken any images or films for my short film/music video. So I came up with the idea of using an image from a free website that I typically visit for free pictures, pexels. I grabbed some of the free images from there and decided to modify each of the images I chose to make a more intriguing image.

*I'm attempting to use as few images as possible because, after all, they aren't mine.

I genuinely had a lot of fun tweaking the image when editing. I have to admit that I finished the photo 8 hours before the deadline, and for 8 hours with this kind of production, I have to admit that I'm rather pleased. It was a lot of fun to utilise all of the tools in Photoshop to make the picture come to life, and I love sketching shadows and lighting.

FINAL OUTPUT:

And these are the results I came up with. The price of convenience billboard, which attempts to depict what would happen if this type of lifestyle continues and how it will harm our environment, is aligned with the UNDP Sustainable Development Goals of Responsible Consumption and Production:

The Price Of Convenience

The price convenience is a short film that depicts how plastics and any other materials that are not sustainable are slowly causing damage to the environment and slowly having an impact on people's health. The topic of "Responsible Consumption and Production" will be especially portrayed in the short film, which will help expedite the objective of "By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse." The film will raise issues related to the 12 goals of the United Nations Development Programme.

The movie, The Price of Convenience, also comes with a movie poster that is powerful enough to express the message that the filmmakers wanted the audience to take away from the film. The artist of the poster thinks that by focusing attention on the central feature of the poster, which is the garbage can, they will be able to convey to the audience or viewers a clear picture of what would occur if the 12 goals specifically pertaining to "Responsible Consumption and Production" were not immediately put into place.

The poster for "The Price of Convenience" is also a satire on the current lifestyle of people, which is steadily harming the environment, and the author of this poster believes that by designing this poster, people would see how harmful this type of lifestyle can be if
people continue to practise it.

REFLECTION:

To be honest, it was a memorable journey for me. I had a lot of fun doing the photoshop and adding lights and shadows to the picture. It's a great journey for me because I may learn new things in this module and competition. Despite the fact that it was a competition, I had a lot of fun because I could do whatever I wanted.

For this module, I'd like to express my gratitude to Ms Anis for providing us with the opportunity to compete. Without this competition, I would not have realised how skilled I am in Photoshop, and it feels like I have also discovered my latent potential.

I will never forget this unforgettable experience during my fourth semester, which included a great professor and a great module, as well as meeting a lot of pleasant and good people in class.
