UX Design : Proposal and Group Report

INSTRUCTIONS :

PROGRESSIONS :

  • WEEK 1 :
During the first week of the semester, we were assigned to form groups and discuss Niche Fashion Trends for our application design for the final project. As a result, we formed a group consisting of myself, Eva, Angelyn, and Harpreet. We chose High Platform Shoes as our primary product for the application with gothic themes.

  • WEEK 4 : MOODBOARD

Figure 1.2 Moodboard (3)

We decided to begin compiling a moodboard and art direction for this project this week. As previously stated, we chose a Japanese gothic theme for this application that we believe is appropriate for our product High Platform Shoes.

Figure 1.3 Typography Draft

We also created some typography draughts in order to experiment and determine which typography or fonts produce the best results for our moodboard and theme. For our logo, we chose Berkahi Blackletter as the font.

  • WEEK 5 : PROPOSAL

Figure 2.0 Persona

We decided to create four different personas based on our target audience after finalising our target audience: intern student with limited budget looking for some reasonable price items, drag performer looking for high platform boots for the performance, worker with stable income having some trouble with sizing, shipping, and delays, and fashion influencer looking for unique items.

Figure 2.1 and 2.0 Empathy Map and User Journey

We also created an Empathy Map and a User Journey Map. We came up with four different parts for the empathy map: what they say, think, do, feel, pains, and gains. We focused on several user steps for the User Journey Map, including awareness, research and consideration, decision, service or delivery, and finally the post-purchase stage.

REFLECTION :

Doing research is always a fascinating experience for me. However, I must admit that finding a target audience was extremely difficult for me because the product we chose for our application has a very specific and far too small target audience, so I decided to use performer or drag performer as the target audience.

Aside from that, this module is extremely difficult, especially for our group, as the majority of us are entertainment design students who have never used Figma before and are required to use it for the first time this semester.
